IgorIgor Ivanovich Sechin was born in Leningrad on September 7, 1960.
He graduated from high school in 1977.
In 1984, he graduated from Leningrad State University’s philological faculty (LSU).
He worked as a military translator in Mozambique and Angola from 1982 to 1984.
He served in the Soviet Armed Forces from 1984 to 1986.
After returning from Africa in 1986, he began working for the State Committee for External Economic Relations of the Council of Ministers of the USSR’s specialist foreign trade association Technoexport.
He worked at Leningrad University’s Foreign Department. People have often referred him to with the nickname ‘Darth Vader’.
