Isis Gaston, better known by her stage name Ice Spine, was born on January 1, 2000, in the Bronx, New York, United States. Her mother was unknown, and her father was a musician who worked in the underground scene. Due to the background of her parents, he is of mixed Dominican and Nigerian ethnicity.

When Spice was two years old, her parents split up. When she was seven years old, she fell in love with hip-hop and began listening to rappers like Lil’ Kim, one of her inspirations. She completed her secondary education at a Catholic school in Yonkers before enrolling in the State University of New York at Purchase for her undergraduate studies, where she participated fully in volleyball.

In 2021, she put out Bully Freestyle, her first single. She increased her Instagram following the release of her song “Name of Love” on SoundCloud. She eventually achieved fame after Canadian musician Drake supported her by playing the song Munch (Feeling U) on his radio station. August 2022 saw the release of the song. The song took over Twitter and TikTok following the hype generated by the Canadian artist and its placement on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Bubbling Under Hot 100 charts. She is still gradually moving up the music industry ladder despite her young age.
