Ghanaian forward Ibrahim Sadiq emerged as the hero for AZ Alkmaar in their Dutch Eredivisie clash on Saturday, coming off the bench to inspire his team to a thrilling 3-2 victory against Waalwijk.

Sadiq made an immediate impact after being introduced as a substitute, setting up a goal for Yukinari Sugawara to reduce the deficit and then scoring the equalizer himself in the 75th minute. His goal paved the way for AZ’s top scorer Vangelis Pavlidis to net the winner just minutes later.

The match started in favor of Waalwijk, with David Min scoring early on to give the away side the lead. Min then doubled his team’s advantage just before halftime, putting them in a comfortable position.

However, a triple substitution by AZ in the 61st minute turned the tide of the game, with Sadiq playing a crucial role in the comeback. His performance earned him the Man of the Match award, highlighting his impact on the game.

This victory marks Sadiq’s first goal in the Dutch League since joining AZ from BK Hacken in the summer, further solidifying his position in the team. The win also propels AZ Alkmaar up the Eredivisie standings, showcasing the team’s resilience and ability to secure important victories.

Sadiq’s stellar performance has undoubtedly endeared him to AZ fans and reaffirmed his importance to the team’s success this season. Ghanaian football fans have reason to be proud of the talented forward as he continues to make a name for himself on the European football stage.
