Iasos, a pioneer of New Age music, died at the age of 77 on Saturday, January 6, 2024.
Iasos Cause of death
Iasos died as a result of a natural cause. There was no cause of death revealed. His death was announced by his friend and producer Carlos Niño and Douglas McGowan of Yoga Records on Instagram.
“What a sad surreal feeling it is to report that Iasos departed on Saturday… When I last saw him in April, he was just as spritely as ever. I know I’m not alone when I say that of all the original masters, I assumed he’d be the last to go,” McGowan wrote.

Iasos was born on January 9, 1947, in Greece, where he moved to New York with his family at the age of four. After graduating from Cornell University in 1968 with a degree in cultural anthropology, he eventually settled in Marin County, California.
