I won’t produce low quality songs like others just because I want massive airplay – Zapp Mallet

Sound engineer and producer, Zapp Mallet, has said he will not lower his standards in order to get massive airplay on radio. 

The renowned producer who has always maintained that radio stations are contributing to the falling standard of music in the country in a post on on Facebook said he does not intend to lower his standards although he has been told to do that on countless occasions.

He posted “Wen u talk sm ppl don’t want u to talk, but I’ve bin told countless times to compromise my standards n quality just to get air play, u know, just do wat d boys r doing, dey tell me”.

He indicated that he will rather raise the bar and produce good music for posterity rather than produce music that will last for the moment.

“Wat nonsense!! I’m doing wat I know best n I’ll keep at it!! We need Jesus paa.”

Zapp served on the opening and closing ceremony sub-committee of the African Cup of Nations which Ghana hosted in 2008.

Zapp had worked with artistes including Samini, Okyeame Kwame,  and Lord Kenya.
