Ghanaian musician Gyakie has shared her thoughts on dating within the music and creative industry, cautioning against it in a recent interview. She expressed that while love is beautiful, relationships with individuals in the same field can be challenging.

During an interview with 3FM, Gyakie emphasized that she would not currently consider dating someone in the industry. She stated, “I won’t advise myself to do that if I have another version of me. I wouldn’t advise that because it can be very, very tricky but you never know.”

Gyakie also opened up about the inspiration behind her latest single, ‘December.’ She revealed that the song was born out of a broken heart and disappointment from a “special someone.” The singer explained that she wrote the lyrics for ‘December’ during a sad moment in Paris.

“It is fully broken heart. Its actually one of the songs I wrote when I was actually in one of my sad moments and I wrote it in Paris. Every word in the song is literally direct. A special someone disappointed me…the story of the song is in the lyrics of the song when you read the lyrics, you will understand what I mean more,” Gyakie shared during an interview on TV3’s New Day.

Reflecting on her personal experiences, Gyakie stressed the importance of processing emotions through music, highlighting the therapeutic nature of songwriting. Ultimately, the artist’s vulnerability and honesty in her music continue to resonate with her fans and listeners.
