Renowned Ghanaian gospel artist Celestine Donkor has recently spoken up regarding rumors circulating about her contemplating weight loss surgery.
In a candid interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz with Doreen Avio, Donkor vehemently denied any intentions of undergoing such a procedure and instead focused on promoting self-acceptance and prioritizing health.
Addressing societal pressures and unrealistic beauty standards, Donkor emphasized the importance of embracing one’s body while highlighting her active lifestyle and emphasis on health.
She stated, “I am plus size but very active. I might even overtake a lot of slim people in a marathon. The fat is in my genes, my family, we are big. I have never had high blood pressure or anything. I do regular check-ups and drink a lot of water, and I have enough rest, so health-wise, I am fine.”
Donkor’s words shed light on the significance of prioritizing overall well-being over conformity to societal norms, challenging stereotypes around weight and health.
She emphasized that her plus-sized body has not posed any health risks, crediting her family history of being plus-sized but healthy.
By sharing her personal journey and advocating for self-love and acceptance, Celestine Donkor continues to be a voice of empowerment and positivity in the entertainment industry.
