Nigerian rapper and Big Brother Naija winner Laycon has finally opened up to the nation and the entire public about the financial hardships he faced sometimes before attaining this level of excellence and fame.
Describing this challenging period as his lowest lows and real-life struggles, Laycon shared on his Twitter page his past struggles. He was so financially drained and strained that he could not even afford to buy sugar for his gari.
Meanwhile, the BBNaija star explained that the situation was so dire that he lacked the means to purchase a sachet of water to prepare his gari.
Precisely, and according to him during an interview, he resorted to using water from the tap in his hostel’s toilet to prepare and consume the gari.
Reflectively, he quoted that as one of his lows and worst moments in life in the early days of 2013. “He said I was alone in my wing that weekend, and I was really startled. I was hungry, I was down, and I had no choice but to use the toilet water to perform what I must do, thus using it for the gari preparations.
He noted strongly that life is all about struggling and how you make it special by becoming someone special in life. He advised the youth to stand still and strong in life instead of going out there for “Juju” spirit to make it in life.
