American rapper Meek Mill appears hell-bent on acquiring a Ghanaian citizenship, and now he seems to have another flexible option: a dual citizenship.
Earlier this week, the 36-year-old rapper from Philadelphia took to his official X (Twitter) account to declare his intention of acquiring a Ghanaian citizenship due to how ‘America is made to tear black men down if they don’t follow orders.’
He tweeted: “I wanna get citizenship in Ghana!!!! America [sic] made to tear black men down if you don’t follow orders!”

But a day after his initial tweet, he tweeted again that he would rather need a dual citizenship so that he can move between Ghana and the United States.
“I need dual citizenship in Ghana I think I wanna go back and forth” he tweeted.

His second request met mixed reaction, with the majority of commenters calling him out for chasing clout with Ghana.
“Tweeting about Ghana all the time looks like a clout-chasing technique to get other African countries jealous. Man, you’re just riding on perceived Pan-Africanism to feel impotent cos even in the US, you ain’t that recognized!” Twitter (X) influencer Bongo Ideas wrote.

“You think this works? Like someone is going to slide you a citizenship card in your DMs?!” an X user said.

One user took the chance to troll Nigerians in the comments: “Never think of Nigeria. They don’t have light, and robbery out there is very high. They’ll claim everything you got.”
