One of the hottest Ghanaian artistes at the moment, Kwesi Arthur has revealed that he stopped performing in the church due to a single mistake he committed.

The Church of Pentecost member in an interview on Citi FM on Monday, July 9, disclosed that he mistakenly performed a popular Hiplife song during a church service hence his decision to avoid performing in the house of the Lord.

According to him, he once performed “Ahomka Womu”, a 2003 hit song performed by VIP (now VVIP), during a church service.

He said he joined the instrumentalists of his church to pack the instruments where he mistakenly sang the song and got cautioned.
Since then, he has vowed not to sing at church.

The “Grind Day” hitmaker became the first male Ghanaian artiste to be nominated for the “Viewers’ Choice: Best New International Act” category at this year’s BET Awards.

He landed a nomination in the category alongside Mc Soffia (Brazil), Prince Waly (France), Take A Mic (France), Niniola (Nigeria), Sjava (South Africa), Sik-K (South Korea), Nailah Blackman (Trinidad And Tobago), Not3s (UK) and Iamddb (UK).

Even though he lost to South Africa’s Sjava, he has received massive applauds from Ghanaians.

He is currently out with a new single, titled “Woara”. It’s a Thanksgiving song for his nomination at this year’s BET Awards.
