His father, Melvin Earl Combs, was in the U.S. Air Force and was a friend of convicted New York drug dealer Frank Lucas. He was raised in Mount Vernon, New York. His mother, Janice Combs (née Smalls), was a model and teaching assistant.
The hip-hop mogul surprised his mother Janice Combs on Monday, December 21, to show her how much he cares. Diddy threw a celebration in his mother’s honor to mark her 80th birthday, where he pretended to give her a new automobile and a $1 million check.
In addition to the celebrations, the 51-year-old celebrity posted a heartfelt homage to her on Instagram.
The well-known hitmaker said, “I only live because of this gorgeous, hardworking, loving, hilarious, ass-whooping, sincere, clever, fly absolutely awesome Black Goddess Queen!! “Happy 80th birthday to the world’s greatest mother! Love you always and forever! … and this is indeed her at the age of 80, unaltered! BIRTHDAY WISHES TO #MAMACOMBS.”
He also posted on his Instagram Story, expressing his admiration and affection for his mother.
“Look at this. Dec. 21 is the current day. Okay, so my mum was born on December 21.” In the video, he exclaimed. “My mum turned 80 years old today. Hey, that person right there is my hero. Nobody compares to your mother. I give my mother all the praise and honor due to God.”
