Ghana’s veteran actress Julie Juu has opened up about her decision to relocate to the UK, calling it one of the best decisions she has ever made. Known for her role in the popular TV series ‘Cantata’, Julie has been living and working in the UK for over a decade.
Speaking at the Party in the Park event in the UK, Julie shared that her initial reason for traveling abroad was to visit her children, whom she had been unable to see at their graduation ceremonies for personal reasons. However, the care and comfort she received from her children during her first visit, especially after the sudden death of her husband, led her to make the decision to relocate.
Julie expressed gratitude for the support of her two biological children and other wards who have been taking excellent care of her, providing for all her needs including food, housing, insurance, and more. Reflecting on her decision, Julie stated, “I have not regretted at all. I believe if I were living in Ghana, by now I would have been weak and frail with a wrinkled body. At the moment even if I stopped working my children will take care of me.”
The actress highlighted the stark differences between living in Ghana and living overseas, noting that she now enjoys a comfortable life free from the challenges she faced back home. Despite being away for over a decade, Julie only returned to Ghana last year to celebrate her ten-year anniversary of living abroad.
