Tiwa Savage, the talented Nigerian vocalist, recently opened up about how she got into the music industry during an interview with MTV Live. Contrary to popular belief, Tiwa revealed that music was not her first passion. In fact, she admitted that she only pursued a career in music because she had a crush on a man who was always surrounded by musicians.

The award-winning singer shared this surprising revelation while promoting her new movie project, “Water and Garri.” Tiwa expressed that her true passion was acting, not music. She confessed, “I’ve always wanted to do acting. Acting was one of my first loves before music. I got into music because I had a crush on a guy, and he was always around musicians, so I said, ‘yeah, forget acting and just go into music.'”

Despite entering the music industry under unconventional circumstances, Tiwa has become one of Nigeria’s most successful and prominent artistes. She has won numerous awards and accolades for her outstanding musical talent.

In addition to her music career, Tiwa recently executive produced the movie ‘Water and Garri,’ which is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. For Tiwa, being able to pursue her first love of acting through this project was a “dream come true.”

Through her journey in the entertainment industry, Tiwa Savage has proven that passion and dedication can lead to success, even if the path may not have been initially planned. Her story serves as a reminder that sometimes the most unexpected detours can lead to incredible opportunities and achievements.
