Hearts of Oak head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, was left seething on Sunday after his team suffered a disappointing loss to Aduana Stars in the Ghana Premier League. The gaffer and his team were hoping for a win as they faced off against Aduana Stars in a Week 30 clash of the league campaign at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Confidence was high among the Hearts of Oak camp, with Coach Ouattara Aboubakar believing his side would come out on top at full-time. However, the team fell short and ended up losing by a single goal, leaving the coach frustrated with his players.
In his post-match comments, Coach Ouattara Aboubakar blasted his players for their lackluster performance and inconsistency on the pitch. “We played badly. They didn’t have any motivation today. I don’t understand what happened. Very disastrous, disappointed completely. These boys, I can’t understand them; today you are good, tomorrow you are bad. I don’t understand,” the coach lamented.
He went on to express his disappointment with the team’s performance, highlighting the fact that they failed to register a single shot on target throughout the 90 minutes of play. “Today was a very bad game, a very bad game. We played 90 minutes and didn’t register a shot on target. I am not happy, seriously I’m not happy,” Coach Ouattara Aboubakar added.
Looking ahead, Hearts of Oak will now have to regroup and focus on their upcoming match against Asante Kotoko in Kumasi. The team will need to address their inconsistencies and put in a much-improved performance if they are to bounce back from their recent defeat and secure a positive result against their rivals.
