In the regions where the New Patriotic Party currently has members of parliament, President Akufo-Addo has congratulated the winners of the recently concluded parliamentary primary.
“We have elected a good blend of experienced and youthful parliamentary candidates whom I warmly congratulate,” the President said in a notice on Sunday, January 28.
With confidence in the elected candidates, he stated, “helping secure a majority for the NPP in the 9th Parliament of the 4th Republic, and help to return an NPP presidential candidate into office on January 7, 2025.”
“I would like to commend the party’s members for a job well done. In addition, I would like to express my gratitude to all of the parties involved, including the Electoral Commission, the media, the security services, and the national, regional, constituency, and polling station executives.”
He encouraged the losing candidates to back the winners, as required by party tradition, saying that “today’s losers can be tomorrow’s winners.”
“We have to honor this tradition, come together solidly in support of our outstanding presidential candidate and strong parliamentary candidates, and help the party win yet another massive victory. We will be carrying out the work that we have already fully begun of bringing development and prosperity to every region of our nation if we are to Break the Eight, which I know is very likely.
“Let’s stick to the plan, conduct ourselves well in front of the Ghanaian people, fortify our organization, and win the 2024 elections,” he said.
