West Bromwich Albion forward Brandon Thomas-Asante is over the moon after making his debut for the Ghana national team in a thrilling 4-3 victory against the Central African Republic during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The 25-year-old was named on the bench for Ghana’s earlier 2-1 win against Mali but made his mark when he came on as a substitute in the 88th minute against the Central African Republic.

Speaking about his debut, Thomas-Asante expressed his joy and pride, stating that playing for Ghana has always been a dream of his. “I’m feeling good and it was a really good summer. It was really exciting to go away with the national team for the very first time. It’s something I’ve wanted to do forever, to represent Ghana, since I was a child,” he said on the club’s website.

He added, “To be able to play with different players and get a different outlook on things was refreshing. I really enjoyed being with Ghana in the summer which was really good. I came back from international duty and had a breather, but then got back to work here pretty quickly. I couldn’t stay away for too long; I wanted to come back sooner than what my report date was.”

Thomas-Asante’s debut for Ghana is a testament to his hard work and dedication, and it marks the beginning of what promises to be a successful international career for the talented striker.
