President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has publicly addressed the recent electricity supply challenges in Ghana, assuring the nation of the government’s determination to resolve the issues at hand.

He expressed appreciation for the patience shown by Ghanaians during the recent power outages and reiterated the government’s continuous efforts to alleviate the challenges.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Kumasi 1 Thermal Plant in the Ashanti Region, President Akufo-Addo acknowledged the hardships faced by citizens not only in the Ashanti region but throughout the country. He thanked the people for their patience in the face of the power supply difficulties.

In addition, Samuel Atta Akyea, Chairman of Parliament’s Mines and Energy Committee, warned against politicizing electricity issues, stressing the importance of a reliable power supply for all Ghanaians regardless of political differences. He emphasized that electricity is a necessity for everyone in the country and urged against undermining efforts to strengthen the nation’s power infrastructure.

It is essential to prioritize the well-being of Ghana and its citizens above political affiliations when addressing crucial issues like electricity supply. The government’s commitment to resolving the power challenges and ensuring a stable and reliable power supply for all Ghanaians is commendable. Let us all work together towards a brighter and more electrified future for the nation.
