On December 31, 1998, Hunter Schafer was born in the United States. She is a model, an actress, and a supporter of LGBTQ rights. He was created in Trenton, New Jersey, to Katy and Mac Schafer. Between churches and congregations, their family relocated to New Jersey, Arizona, and finally to Raleigh, North Carolina. Preacher of the Presbyterian faith, her father. Schafer’s opposition to the HB2 law earned her a spot on Teen Vogue’s “21 Under 21” list in 2017. She made her acting debut in the transgender high school student role of Jules Vaughn in the HBO teen drama television series Euphoria (2019–present). She received positive reviews for the part and nominations for the Shorty, MTV Movie & TV, and Dorian Awards.
Schafer has been on the catwalks for a number of different design houses, including Prada, Dior, Gucci, Calvin Klein, Rick Owens, Helmut Lang, Tommy Hilfiger, Thierry Mugler, Coach, Maison Margiela, Vera Wang, Marc Jacobs, Versus Versace, Emilio Pucci, Ann Demeulemeester, and Erdem.
In the 2019 season of the HBO series Euphoria, Schafer made her acting debut. The Primetime Emmy Awards came under fire for omitting her and other transgender actresses from the list of nominees, and she won accolades for her performance in the program.
In the English-language remake of the anime film Belle (2021), she provided the voice of popular high schooler Ruka Watanabe. She will play Tigris Snow in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (2023). (2023).
