If he successfully guides Manchester United back into the Champions League, The new Red Devil’s boss Erik Ten Hag is said to receive a whooping £3 million bonus.

Even so, it still pales in comparison to what United will lose out on if they fail to qualify for Europe’s top club competition for the second consecutive year.

Interestingly, Ten Hag’s £9 million annual salary is only Half of what Pep Guardiola makes with Manchester City, his cross-town rivals and champions.

However, the Dutchman’s contract is packed with bonuses that, if he can secure a top-four finish, will make him laugh all the way to the bank.

After their disastrous season a year ago, United are looking at a £90 million financial hole if they fail to earn a seat at the top table of Europe once more.

In accordance with the terms of their ten-year, £75 million-per-season sponsorship agreement with the maker of soccer shirts, Adidas, they will lose £25 million if they are eliminated from the Champions League twice in a row.

Moreover,  the potential loss of millions in television revenue, prize money, and gate receipts is added to that.

Obviously, following Machester’s, inability to make it to the champions league has immensely affected their transfer market this summer.
