Hubtel, a Ghanaian company founded by proud alumni of St. Augustine’s College, has pledged its support to the APSU ’99 Legacy Project as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts.

The APSU ’99 Legacy Project is particularly important to Hubtel, as the company’s co-founders, Leslie Kwabena Gyimah, Ernest Apenteng, and Alex Bram, all graduated from St. Augustine’s College in the ’99 year group. This shared experience has created a strong bond between Hubtel and their alma mater.

During the launch of the APSU ’99 Legacy Project at the school’s 94th speech and prize-giving event, Mr. Alex Bram, the CEO and co-founder of Hubtel, shared a video communication with the ’99 year group, emphasizing the significance of supporting the project.

Mr. Bram highlighted the importance of quality education and facilities for the development of Ghana, especially in the face of increased pressure on school infrastructure due to the government’s free SHS policy. He stressed the need to provide students with conducive learning environments and mentioned the renovation of an 18-room classroom block as a key focus of the APSU ’99 Legacy Project.

To kickstart the initiative, Hubtel committed a generous seed fund of GHS800,000 to the project through its CSR wing, Hubtel Pledge. While this contribution will set the renovation project in motion, additional funds are required to fully complete the project and organize the upcoming speech and prize-giving day event.

Mr. Bram called on all alumni to unite and rally sponsors to ensure the success of the project, believing that collective efforts to support St. Augustine’s College will inspire current students to strive for success. The legacy project is expected to make a lasting impact on the school and contribute to the growth and development of Ghana as a whole.
