There have been some clarifications regarding the hearing that the Select Committee to Investigate the Attack on the US Capitol on January 6th held on Tuesday.
Pat Cipollone, the former White House counsel for ex-President Donald Trump, finally testified before the committee on Friday during a closed-door filmed session.
The focus of Tuesday’s televised hearing, which will begin at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT, is likely to be quotes and details from Cipollone’s deposition. (That is Hollywood’s nominating day for the Emmys.)
Cipollone’s memories are particularly significant in terms of how they complement or contrast with the bombshell allegations made last week by Cassidy Hutchinson, the top assistant to Mark Meadows, Trump’s former chief of staff.
Cipollone’s testimony will be played at the session, which will center on Trump’s late-December tweet announcing the rally on January 6, according to two House members overseeing the proceedings on Tuesday.
Now that Trump’s former advisor Steve Bannon has agreed to testify, the panel faces a potentially even more explosive deposition.
