Adele Laurie Blue Adkins born 5 May 1988 is an English singer and songwriter better known by her stage name Adele. Adele received a record deal with XL Recordings after graduating from the BRIT School of Arts in 2006.
Her debut album, 19, was released in 2008 and produced the top-five songs “Chasing Pavements” and “Make You Feel My Love” in the United Kingdom.
The album was certified 8 platinum in the United Kingdom and triple platinum in the United States. Adele received both the Brit Award for Rising Star and the Grammy Award for Best New Artist.
