Miss Universe is an annual international beauty pageant that is run by the United States.
The Miss Universe Pageant was founded in 1952 by by Pacific Knitting Mills, a California-based clothing company and manufacturer of Catalina Swimwear and the first pageant was held in Long Beach, California.
The just ended Miss Universe pageant was the 70th which was held on December 12, in Eilat, Israel.
Harnaaz Sandhu of India was crowned the 70th Miss Universe after the competition. She is the third Indian to have won the Miss Universe since it started.

Reports suggest that, the winner of the Miss Universe doesn’t just walk away with exposure, a crown and flowers.
The current Miss Universe is said to also walk away with $250,000 with other benefits included.
