How much will Johnny Depp pay Amber Heard?

After hearing closing arguments from both sides on Friday, the jury went into deliberation before reconvening Tuesday morning after the Memorial Day holiday. The verdict was reached unanimously and read aloud in the Fairfax County, Virginia, courtroom on Wednesday afternoon, after more than 12 hours of deliberation behind closed doors.

The jury ruled in favor of Johnny Depp in his libel lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard on Wednesday (June 1), proving that  Amy Heard fabricated claims that Depp abused her before and during their brief marriage.

Johnny Depp won all three defamation counts in his case against ex-wife Amber Heard over her 2018 op-ed about coming forward with allegations of domestic abuse. She’ll have to pay $15 million dollars in restitution.

The breakdown was $10 million dollars in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages in his defamation suit.

Interestingly the jury also awarded Heard $2 million dollars in compensatory damages.
