How much will Amber Heard pay Johnny Depp after losing libel lawsuit?
Johnny Depp won all three defamation counts in his case against ex-wife Amber Heard over her 2018 op-ed about coming forward with allegations of domestic abuse. She’ll have to pay $15 million dollars in restitution.
A jury ruled in favor of Johnny Depp in his libel lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard on Wednesday (June 1), proving that Amy Heard fabricated claims that Depp abused her before and during their brief marriage.
After hearing closing arguments from both sides on Friday, the jury went into deliberation before reconvening Tuesday morning after the Memorial Day holiday. The verdict was reached unanimously and read aloud in the Fairfax County, Virginia, courtroom on Wednesday afternoon, after more than 12 hours of deliberation behind closed doors.
Depp was not in court today because he has been in the UK performing rock concerts with Jeff Beck since Sunday night; however, his ex-wife was present for the verdict.
