Popular movie streaming platform Netflix has increased its subscription packages.
In an announcement on its website, Netflix said the new packages will take effect in January 2022.
For existing subscribers, the changes will be rolled out “gradually,” with Netflix promising to email members 30 days before the price hike goes into effect.
“Netflix offers a variety of plans to meet your needs. The plan you choose will determine the video quality and the number of screens you can watch Netflix on at the same time,” their statement said.
It added: “These prices apply to new members and will gradually take effect for all current members. Current members will receive an email notification 30 days before their price changes, unless they change their plan.”
How much is Netflix a month in 2022?
The Basic plan now goes for $9.99; Standard for $15.49; and Premium for $19.99. The prices have been increased across the United States and Canada.
