The North American League of Legends Championship Series (NA LCS) is the highest level of League of Legends competition in the United States and Canada.
Riot Games manages the esports league, which features 10 franchise teams.
Each competition season is divided into two halves, spring and summer, and culminates in a double-elimination tournament between the top eight teams.
The champion, runners-up, and third-place teams from the summer playoffs qualify for the annual League of Legends World Championship at the end of the season.
Acer, Coca-Cola, and American Express have all sponsored the LCS.
Cloud9 was the 2021 winner of the games
How much does it cost to join LCS?
According to Bloomberg, current NA LCS companies will pay a fixed fee of $10 million for franchises, with newcomers needing to pay an additional $3 million to compensate clubs that were not selected to the group of ten for the season.
Franchises will be able to pay this charge over time, with the possibility of portion of it being waived if the league meets financial targets in the coming years.
