Even though he grew around crocodiles and other reptiles and even worked taking care of them, he sadly passed away on September 4, 2006, in Batt Reef, Australia after being pierced in the chest by a short-tail stingray barb while filming in the Great Barrier Reef with Philippe Cousteau Jr.
