The Serpent, The Splitting Killer, and The Bikini Killer are some of the alternate names for the French serial killer Charles Sobhraj. Throughout the 1970s, he worked in Southeast Asia, primarily catering to western visitors. Sobhraj frequently demonstrates psychopathic qualities, and it’s assumed that he’s killed people and stolen things to fund his opulent and adventurous way of life.

Even in the beginning of his criminal career, he attracted a lot of attention due to his brilliance and sophisticated personality and created a tiny cult around himself. He has also been charged with numerous other offences, including drug usage, robbery, and identity theft. He has also been implicated in at least 12 murders. He was ultimately accused of murder in India in 1976.

The next 21 years of his life were spent in Tihar Jail in New Delhi. After being released in 1997 and retiring in France, he began living the life of a superstar. In 2003, when he went back to Nepal, the police once more detained him.

Following his trial, the judge sentenced him to life in prison. Sobhraj has become a noteworthy character in criminal history. About his life, at least four novels and three films have been written.
