Michael Dean Bossy, popularly known as Mike Bossy was a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played his entire National Hockey League career for the New York Islanders.

He was born on January 22, 1957, in Montreal, to a Ukrainian dad, Borden Bossy, and an English mom, Dorothy Mills Bossy.

He was from a family of 10 siblings and happens to be the fifth son among the 10 children of his parents.

Mike died on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at the age of 65 after battling lung cancer.

In October 2021, Mike Bossy revealed that he has been diagnosed with lung cancer.
