English musician Charles Robert Watts, who was born on June 2, 1941, rose to fame by playing the drums for the Rolling Stones from 1963 until his death in 2021.

Charles Richard Watts, a truck driver for the London, Midland and Scottish Railway, and his wife Lillian Charlotte, a former factory worker, welcomed their son Charles Robert Watts at University College Hospital in Bloomsbury, London. He was his sibling of Linda.

After finishing art school, he worked as a graphic designer for Charlie Daniels Studios in the advertising industry and occasionally played drums in local bands in bars and coffee shops.

With Middlesex from 1958 to 1959, he and Green started their musical careers in the jazz group known as the Jo Jones All Stars. At London rhythm and blues clubs in the middle of 1962, Watts first met Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ian “Stu” Stewart, and Brian Jones. But it wasn’t until January 1963 that Watts made a formal decision to join the Rolling Stones.
