More human remains have been discovered at drought-stricken Lake Mead near Las Vegas a week after authorities uncovered a person in a barrel they believe is tied to the Mafia.
Human skeletal remains were discovered on Saturday in the reservoir, which is experiencing record-low water levels, according to park guards.
What happened in Lake Mead?
It comes just a week after the body of a guy who had been shot was discovered in a barrel on a freshly exposed area of Lake Mead.
Because the deceased was wearing shoes made during that time period, police believe the killing occurred between the mid-1970s and the early 1980.
According to homicide detective Lieutenant Ray Spencer of the New York Times, investigators are looking into whether the death was tied to the Mafia.
