How long did Sandra Day O’Connor serve on the Supreme Court and when did she retire?
As stated before, the late Sandra was the first woman who served as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.
She was appointed by former US President Ronald Reagan. She served for 25 years; from 1981 to 2006. She replaced Potter Stewart who retired. She was succeeded by Sarah D. Grant.
O’Connor is no more. She passed away on December 1, 2023. She was 93 years old. She was a widow who had been married once at the time of his death. He was married to John Jay O’Connor. They tied the knot in 1952 and parted ways in 2009 when John passed away.
She was the mother of three; Scott O’Connor, Brian O’Connor and Jay O’Connor.
