Vincent Jamal Staples is a rapper and vocalist from the United States.
Staples was formerly a close friend of Odd Future, specifically Mike G and Earl Sweatshirt.
Along with fellow California rappers Aston Matthews and Joey Fatts, he is a member of the hip hop duo Cutthroat Boyz.
Staples gained to notoriety after appearing on albums by Odd Future members and releasing Stolen Youth, a collaborative mixtape with producer Mac Miller.
He released his first EP Hell Can Wait in October 2014, which contained the tracks Hands Up and Blue Suede. Summertime ’06, his debut album, was released to tremendous acclaim in June 2015.
He was also a member of the XXL 2015 Freshman Class.
Big Fish Theory, his second album, comprises the hits BagBak, Big Fish, and Rain Come Down, and mixes avant-garde, dance, and electronic elements.
It was released in June 2017 to critical praise. FM!, Staples’ third studio album, was released in November 2018.
He released his self-titled fourth studio album in July 2021.
