On a recording played in court, Amber Heard confessed to punching Johnny Depp.
Ms. Heard and Mr. Depp fought over the recording’s physical altercation, in which she said she hit Mr. Depp but did not “deck” him. She apparently encouraged Mr. Depp to “grow up” and referred to him as a “baby.”

Though Depp admitted to developing an addiction to pain medication after an injury on the set of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 4,’ taking his mother’s “nerve pills” from the age of 11, and indulging in various substances over the years to “numb me of the ghosts, the wraiths that were still with me from my youth,” he insisted that the ‘Aquaman’ star had made some “plainly false” allegations relating to his youth.
“The depiction of my substance misuse’ that has been presented by Ms. Heard is excessively inflated,” he told the court, citing numerous extended periods of abstinence over the years and detailing how he had detoxed from the prescription medicines.
