Ronnie Spector passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 12, after being diagnosed with cancer. Spector was best known as the legendary lead vocalist of the 1960s girl group The Ronettes.
Following the news of her passing, a lot of famous people posted condolences on social media for the loss of a gifted musician, unmistakable vocalist, and free spirit.
For instance, Zendaya will portray Ronnie in her biopic.
How is Zendaya related to Ronnie Spector?
After noticing that Zendaya looked like Ronnie Spector, there are rumors that the two are connected. However, this is untrue; they are not connected. The similarity might be explained by the fact that she is playing Ronnie in her biopic.
In the upcoming biopic “Be My Baby,” Zendaya will play Ronnie Spector, the front woman for the Ronettes. Spector reportedly personally selected Zendaya to play her.
It’s disappointing that she won’t be present to see her performance, though. Ronnie, a singer, and actress with numerous acting and singing awards has spoken extensively about it.
it’s incredibly sad Ronnie won’t be able to see Zendaya portraying her since they’ve talked about it for so long :(! But I know Zendaya will tell Ronnie’s story amazingly for generations to watch and learn about Ronnie’s story and legacy♥️pic.twitter.com/X5rb3NSVIA

Because she won’t be there to share the narrative and convey her sentiments, we hope Zendaya has gleaned as much information as she can about her through their countless meetings.
According to reports, the movie would focus on the singer’s early years in Spanish Harlem and how she and her sister and cousin formed the Grammy-winning band.
