Ted Turner, the founder of CNN stated that he has Lewy body dementia, the same type of dementia that Robin Williams battled in his final years.

How is Ted Turner’s health?

LBD affects 1.5 million Americans, according to the Lewy Body Dementia Association’s website.

It is a progressive neurological disorder that affects a patient’s memory, cognition (especially decision making), mood, behavior, and balance.

It is frequently misdiagnosed as Parkinson’s disease, as in Williams’ case, or bipolar disorder, as in Turner’s.

He struggled to recall the name of his condition, displaying some of the memory impairments associated with LBD, “I also have got, let’s – the one that’s – I can’t remember the name of it… dementia.”

Turner described the condition as “weary” and “exhausting,” adding that the other symptom that troubles him the most is “forgetfulness.”

According to his wife, Susan Schneider, Williams’ case was significantly more severe, referring to it as “the terrorist within my husband’s brain.”

Worse, they had no idea what the comedian had been up to in the year leading up to his suicide in August 2014, at the age of 63.
