The findings of a recent survey titled “The Most Influential Individuals in 2021” were released by the Korean research organization Gallup Korea on December 20 KST.
Every year since 2007, Gallup Korea has conducted a study on a variety of people, including actors, comedians, singers, and TV personalities.
More than 5,100 people aged 13 and older participated in the poll this year, which was conducted by the research institute in three consecutive periods from July 8 to August 27 and from September 2 to October 4 (excluding Jeju Island).
How influential is IU in Korea?
The Nation’s Little Sister, IU, is ranked as the second most influential person! In the poll, 32.1% of respondents under the age of 30 chose Indiana University.
IU made his debut at the tender age of 15, and since then, he has developed into one of South Korea’s best-selling and best-performing solo singers. She is not just a fantastic singer-songwriter but also a very successful actress who has appeared in several top dramas.
Since 2011, IU has appeared in the Top 10 of Gallup Korea’s Singer of the Year list, and in 2014 and 2017, he even reached the top spot.
Both of IU’s songs from this year—”Lilac,” which she self-penned, and “Nakka,” which she co-wrote with AKMU—saw success on the charts.
