American veteran golf journalist Tim Rosaforte has joined his ancestors. The multiple award-winning veteran passed away at the age of 66.

He won more than 40 awards for his work, including both the PGA of America’s Lifetime Achievement Award and the Memorial Tournament’s golf journalism award.

Rosaforte was the first journalist to be awarded honorary membership by the PGA of America, and one of only 12 to receive that honor, joining Presidents Dwight Eisenhower, Gerald Ford and George H.W. Bush, and nine-time major champion Gary Player.

He was born on October 25, 1955, in Mount Kisco, NY, and played football in college. As an undersized linebacker, he used smarts and tenacity to make a mark.

Rosaforte was a pillar in the golf world, having worked for Sports Illustrated, Golf Digest, and Golf Channel throughout his career. He also wrote locally for the Palm Beach Post.

Tim Rosaforte, who is one of the great golf journalists of all time and a Palm Beach Gardens resident, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. He was 66.

The cause of Tim Rosaforte’s death is Alzheimer’s disease. He died after a short battle with Alzheimer’s disease, according to Golf Central.

Rosaforte is survived by his wife, two daughters, and three grandchildren.
