Ser Meryn Trant served as a knight in the Kingsguard under the rule of King Robert Baratheon, King Joffrey Baratheon, and King Tommen Baratheon.
Ser Meryn Trant comes from the House Baratheon vassal house of Trant. After Robert’s Rebellion, he joins Robert Baratheon’s Kingsguard as a knight. Despite being a successful tournament knight, Sandor Clegane rejects Trant’s abilities by saying that “any boy whore with a sword could beat three Meryn Trants.”
How did Meryn Trant die in ‘Game of Thrones’?
Arya killed Meryn Trant at a brothel.Although he frequently complies with orders that violate a knight’s sworn duty to protect the helpless and the innocent, he takes great pride in his status as a knight of the Kingsguard.
In season 5, Meryn Trant assumes the role of Rafford, sometimes known as “Raff the Sweetling,” a fictional figure who shares Raff’s inclination toward young women. Lommy Greenhands was killed by Rafford, one of Gregor Clegane’s soldiers (Polliver is still the one who accepts Arya’s sword).
Later, Rafford travels to Braavos with Master of Coin Harys Swyft. Harys only made an appearance in season 1 of the show, when Mace Tyrell talks with Stannis Baratheon’s Braavos garrison rather than Storm’s End. He is accompanied by Meryn Trant. When Trant chose a young prostitute in the Braavosi brothel over three older ones, it is abundantly clear on this journey that Trant is a vicious paedophile.
