How did Linda Ronstadt lose her voice?

Ronstadt woke up one day and discovered that she could not sing a single note. Her condition was initially diagnosed by her doctors as Parkinson’s Disease but they later reviewed it and concluded that she was suffering from a disease known as progressive supranuclear palsy, which is a very rare brain condition.

PSP is a disease that inhibits coordinated body movements such as walking, balance, and eye movement. It was very clear to Ronstadt that her singing career was over immediately after the first symptom manifested.

Ronstadt has three number-one pop albums, ten top-ten pop albums, and 38 charting pop albums as of 2019.

She has 15 albums on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, four of which have reached number one. Ronstadt’s singles have won her number one and three number two spots on the Hot 100 chart.
