Geoffrey Arnold Beck, an English rock guitarist, was born on June 24, 1944, and passed away on January 10, 2023. Later on, he fronted Beck, Bogert & Appice, and the Jeff Beck Group, gaining notoriety with the Yardbirds. His albums combined guitar rock and electronica with blues rock, hard rock, jazz fusion, and other styles. He made the transition to a mostly instrumental style with an emphasis on new sound in 1975.

Beck was ranked fifth on the list of the 100 greatest guitarists that were published by Rolling Stone and other publications. He was often called a “guitarist’s guitarist.” Rolling Stone referred to him as “one of the most influential lead guitarists in rock.” Despite the fact that Beck released two solo albums that reached the top of the charts in 1975 and 1976, he did not achieve or maintain the same level of long-term commercial success as many of his bandmates and peers.

Arnold and Ethel Beck were the parents of Geoffrey Arnold Beck when he was born on June 24, 1944, at 206 Demesne Road in Wallington, England. When Beck was ten, he sang in a church choir. He went to Sutton Manor School and Sutton East County Secondary Modern School.
