Clyde Jackson Browne was born in the US on October 9, 1948. He is a political activist, musician, singer, and composer. He has sold more than 18 million records in this country.

Clyde Jack Browne, an American serviceman, was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany, the city where he was born and was hired to work for the Stars and Stripes newspaper. Browne’s mother, Beatrice Amanda, was a Minnesota native of Norwegian descent.

Browne joined the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band after graduating in 1966, and they opened for the Lovin’ Spoonful at the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach, California. The band later recorded a number more Browne songs, including These Days, Holding, and Shadow Dream Song. Also, he temporarily performed with his pal Pamela Polland in the band Gentle Soul.
