William Sanford Nye, better known by his stage name Bill Nye the Science Guy, was born in the United States on November 27, 1955.
He is a mechanical engineer, science communicator, and television host. He is most known for his roles as the host of Bill Nye the Science Guy (1993–1999) and Bill Nye Saves the World (2017–2018) on Netflix, as well as for his numerous appearances as a science educator in popular media.
