A KIA truck loaded with cement blocks has run over several market women at the Ashaiman market after a brake failure.
The accident which happened around 3 pm this Thursday, July 26 has left scores with very serious injuries.
Eye-witness account says the KIA driver who was travelling at full speed with cement blocks at the back of the car lost control of the vehicle as his brake failed him on several attempts.
He then veered off the road, ploughing into motors carrying riders and scores of market women selling tomatoes and other foodstuffs.
Several people rushed to the scene to help the distraught women, whiles some were immediately taken to nearby hospitals and health centers.
It hasn’t been confirmed yet if there were any fatalities but it doesn’t look good for most of them.
