As the District Minister of the Church of Pentecost in Yennyawoso, Pastor Maxwell Adubofourh Asiedu, explains, the main reason for the arrival of the Holy Spirit is to enable believers to evangelize the entire world.
On Sunday, January 21, 2023, at the Yennyawoso Central Assembly auditorium, he made this statement in his homely speech to cap off the New Tafo Area Week celebration.
During his talk, Pastor Adubofourh Asiedu discussed the different types of baptism, with a particular emphasis on the baptism of the Holy Spirit. His precise topic was “Being Baptized by the Power of the Holy Spirit to Transform Your World.” He noted it strongly.
He said that receiving a baptism in the Holy Spirit bestows upon a believer the ability, privilege, and gifts necessary to fulfill God’s ministry and service.
Using numerous passages from the Bible, the Yennyawoso District Minister emphasized that God’s intention has always been to bestow His Spirit on humans so they can accomplish great things, dating back to the beginning of creation.
He said, “The Spirit is and has already been given to the believer, basically to witness about Christ Jesus to the world. Holy Spirit baptism is the promise of God.”
Consequently, he gave the congregation instructions to live evangelism as a way of life and to use the power of the Holy Spirit to change the world.
The minister went on to discuss additional advantages of receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit, stating that “the Spirit enables the believer to walk in the statutes of God.” The Spirit enables the believer to walk in the statutes of God, leading to a life of righteousness and obedience.
Jesus went on: “Whoever has the Spirit of God has life, he quoted.” In closing, Pastor Maxwell Adubofourh Asiedu cautioned Christians against leading lives that could cause them to grieve or quench the Spirit.
Meanwhile, during the week-long celebration, which was held at the district level and had as its theme 38 people were reported to have received baptism in the Holy Spirit.
According to 1 Peter 2:9 and Acts 1:8, “unleashing a people of God through the power of the Holy Spirit to transform their world” Some of the participants showed signs of speaking in tongues.
