The administration at Ho Technical University (HTU) has refuted any plans to rename the institution to Dr. Ephraim Amu Technical University.
A statement released by the university indicated that they have not received any official communication or participated in any discussions regarding the proposed name change.
According to the Registrar of HTU, Dr. Christopher Amehoe, the Vice-Chancellor has not been involved in any meetings or events related to the renaming of the university.
The university acknowledged the receipt of a letter dated April 20, 2024, from the Secretary to the Asogli, expressing concerns about the alleged name change.
In response to the letter presented by the Warlord of the Asogli State, Togbe Adze Lakle Howusu XII, the university management is taking steps to engage with the Asogli Traditional Council to address any issues raised.
Dr. Amehoe emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and progress at Ho Technical University, which is considered the leading tertiary institution in the Volta Region.
As the discussions continue between the university and the traditional council, efforts are being made to ensure that the interests of all parties are taken into consideration for the benefit of the institution and the region as a whole.
