The severe water deficit in his jurisdiction has prompted Ho Municipal Chief Executive Divine Bosson to make an appeal to the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources for assistance.
According to him, initial inquiries showed that splitting a portion of the pipelines supplying the municipality was urgently necessary to improve service delivery.
He was delivering a speech in Ho during the opening of the 9th Assembly of the Ho Municipal Assembly.
“I was informed that my request would necessitate a certain amount of funding in order to divert the lines from Akrofu and serve the residents as well as those in the vicinity of the University of Health and Allied Sciences,” he stated.
Therefore, he pleaded with Sam Okudzeto, a member of the Council of State, to intensify their request to the government to provide the necessary funds for the diversion project to commerce.
Mr. Bosson bemoaned the plight that locals face as a result of the Ghana Water Company’s incapacity to consistently provide water to inhabitants inside the municipality.
The President’s representative, Sam Okudzeto, urged the recently elected assembly members to come up with creative ideas for raising funds to promote local development rather than on solely on public funds.
Additionally, he urged them to back government initiatives, make sure residents of their constituencies are aware of the programs, and see to it that they reap the benefits.
