Hiker falls to her death in Oregon

According to authorities, a lady hiking with a group of friends in the Columbia River Gorge south of Portland, Oregon, died on Friday after falling around 100 feet and sustaining a brain injury.

According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, deputies from the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office and firemen from the Corbett Fire District responded to a complaint of a fall at 1:15 p.m. While on the way, they received word that the woman’s injuries were life-threatening and that onlookers had begun CPR, according to the report.

According to the announcement, the hiker was declared deceased when firemen arrived. Multnomah County Search & Rescue then assisted the medical examiner’s office in locating and recovering the woman’s corpse.

According to the announcement, staff from the Trauma Intervention Program Northwest were deployed to give emotional support and mental health options to people affected by the hiker’s death.

According to the announcement, the woman was hiking on the Multnomah Falls-Larch Mountain Trail. She was discovered around 1.3 miles from the trailhead.
