Highland Park parade shooting; Husband and wife killed during the attack, leaving behind a 2-year-old child
As reported earlier, a mass shooting took place during an Independence Day parade in Highland Park, Illinois, United States, on Monday, July 4, 2022. The shooting occurred at 10:14 a.m. CDT, roughly 15 minutes after the parade had started.
Seven people were killed and at least 46 others were injured after a 21-year-old armed with an assault rifle opened fire on the unsuspecting crowd according to the report.
A 2-year-old child – a boy who has been identified as Aiden McCarthy was left to fend for himself after his mother, 35-year-old Irina McCarthy, and father, 37-year-old Kevin McCarthy were killed during Monday’s mass shooting on July 4th parade in Illinois.2-years-old Aiden was reportedly separated from his parents and got lost in the chaos. He was later found in the midst of Monday’s mayhem and brought to the local fire department.
Reports say the 2-year-old was eventually reunited with his grandparents at a hospital. According to the report, he will now be in the care of his grandparents.
